I found CCleaner 6.39 through a simple search.
Type in Search Bar > ccleaner 6.39 download > Scroll down to SoftPortal (Download CCleaner 6.39.11548 for PC) > choose download from SoftPortal servers (EXE file). Don't download from "official site" as they only offer the new release 700. You could probably use Techspot or informer.com as well.
Henry, (stimmt nicht) "doesn't work", I am sure you are right. It did work long ago, when I reloaded it many times until it stayed, and of this date still does for me. I am running 6.39. I like it just fine. I haven't had to reinstall it since those days 10 months ago. So that version, 6.38, may not be able to even be found. Sad but such is the reality, not all upgrades are better. I had to go into the program files and delete the auto update file many times. Passed this I can't help anymore.
